Patricia Banks

​​"I am intrigued by the fleeting balance between strength and fragility in nature.

Patricia Banks BScN, AFC is a Canadian Landscape painter best known for her detailed oil and acrylic paintings. She is inspired by the magnificence and splendour of the natural environment. Her work is sensitive and evokes the moods and emotional effects of atmosphere revealing an intuitive grasp of the subtleties of time and place.

Patricia's paintings begin outdoors with direct experience and observation in nature. She can often be found painting on location outdoors, or in her studio using the reference material she has gathered to create larger paintings.

Patricia has exhibited widely and has won many awards for her work. She has been an invited workshop presenter for the BC Art Teachers' Association and enjoys teaching drawing and painting classes and workshops. Patricia has written numerous art related articles, for magazines and newspapers. You can enjoy many of these in her website blog.

Patricia is a graduate of the University of Victoria, Victoria, BC. She is a Signature Member of the Artists for Conservation, an Active Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, and an Associate Member of Oil Painters of America.

Award: AFC Conservation Artist of the Month for December, 2024

​The award is made each month to a member of Artists for Conservation who has demonstrated a combination of artistic excellence and an outstanding contribution to the conservation cause. Other recipients of the monthly award have included Robert Bateman, Guy Harvey, John Banovich, David Shepherd, and Guy Combes, to name just a few.
