A Tender Moment

We arrived at our late spring campsite in the heart of the Canadian Rockies just in time to see a mother elk nursing her calf a few feet away from us. When the babe finished its breakfast, the mother lovingly licked her newborn's little face clean, and they browsed leisurely through the fresh green forest. It was a tender moment.
