February has me thinking about Valentines Day and Love! Love that fills our hearts with excitement and passion, kindness and good cheer. I'm thinking about the kind of love that moves us to become better people, that energizes and brings with it a sense of purpose, and that moves us to carry on! When our hearts are filled with love, we always have room for more. It belongs to all. Love's subjects and expressions are as unique as each individual. What does all this have to do with Art Adventures?
"Love is the spirit that motivates the artist's journey." Eric Maisel. It is the driving force that propels me to learn, to create, to paint, to share, and to continue my artist's journey, where ever that might take me. It is the journey of my soul. The best advice I've heard is to do what you love. In doing so, I think we are doing what we are meant to do. We are fulfilling our ultimate purpose. Our entire life lines up in synchronicity. Doors open and windows do too. Even time, evaporates when we are truly absorbed in the moment, doing something we love. Some people know exactly what and whom they love practically from the minute they are born. Many of us must wade through the noise of experience before clearly hearing that mysterious small voice calling. Quiet at first, it gets louder as it awakens in each of us, this love of our life. While the road to love can be long and arduous; without love, we are lost.
Each artist's journey is unique. Love will guide our steps on any road and help us to navigate the potholes. My love of painting motivates and keeps me focused on my Art Adventures!
