On that note, mindfulness is an important part of my process in the realm of painting. When searching for a suitable outdoor destination to paint, I take my time to soak up the scenery. I find it helpful to walk the surrounding area, especially if there are pathways or different kinds of terrain and plants. I like to immerse myself in the environment and to let the landscape speak to me. In this way, as an artist, I can choose to paint a landscape that calls to my soul. By quietly listening, I am also best able to render the mood of the scene and to share its secrets: that special life force that compels the viewer to experience something unique to this particular place.
I want the viewer to embrace a moment in time, to be amazed, and to awed by the miracles of the natural world; and to cherish Mother Nature’s generous gifts. May you find your sacred place and be blessed with positive energy, health, healing and a happy, creative New Year! Cheers, Patricia
